Replacing the Strand Theater, the County Theater was built to be "state-of-the-art" in 1938 and even at that time was air-conditioned. The theater thrived from it's inception through the 1960's when shopping centers and multiplexes strained attendance. Today, as a non-profit, the County Theater presents special films often overlooked by the larger chains and educational outreach programs
