Lit Brothers
Acrylic on canvas – 16" x 20"

In the 1950s and '60s, Lit Brothers department store was the anchor store at the foot of the 69th Street hill in Upper Darby. Gimbles anchored the top of the famous shopping district. Both chains disappeared by the 1980s. This view shows the side of the Lit Brothers building that faces Richfield Road. The alley that runs between the large store and the remainder of shops in the row was used by budding singers and doo wop groups and noted for its great acoustical properties.
