Passing Through Bloomsburg
Acrylic on canvas
The Alvina Kraus Theatre, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
In 1978, after two years of studying with Alvina Krause, the legendary teacher of theatre, a group of young artists decided to put down roots in the town of Bloomsburg and start a theatre. Thus began the nonprofit Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, which in 1980 purchased the Columbia movie theatre in downtown Bloomsburg. The theatre maintains most of its original and unusual marquee, which Mr. Rothacker noticed on a trip through the town in 1991.
