The Church on the Trail
Acrylic on canvas
On a Sunday in fall, my walking buddy, Paul, and I took our first journey down the new hiking and biking trail that winds down the old high-speed rail right-of-way in Radnor. About half way down the 2-1/2 mile trail, I spotted the small brick church with one of the stained glass panes boarded over. The front of the building faced south, so I returned home, got my paints and returned to the spot to capture the light. The congregation was African American and seemed relatively small. Orange light eminated from the windows later in the afternoon.
